FOUR ERRORS GOD’S PEOPLE MAKE

Introduction

Many scholars think that this Psalm was possibly penned by Daniel while in the Babylonian captivity.

The writer begins by praising the Lord!

1.         The Lord’s Person–He is good! (Vs 1a)

2.         The Lord’s Pity–His mercy endures forever! (Vs 1b)

3.         The Lord’s Power (Vs 2)

4.         The Lord’s People (Vs 3)

The Prayer For Pardon begins in verse 4 and shows the four errors that God’s people made that resulted in their being taken into captivity. We make the same four errors today and the result is that we are taken captive sin!

I.         UNDERSTAND NOT. (Vs 7)

            We fail to understand the mighty wonders of God.

II.       REMEMBER NOT. (Vs 7)

            We forget the multitude of the Lord’s mercies toward us.

III.      BELIEVE NOT. (Vs 24)

            We don’t believe His Word like we should.

IV.      DESTROY NOT. (Vs 34)

We don’t destroy the things in our lives that God says are harmful and then they become snares to us.
