SIGNS ON THE ROAD OF LIFE

Introduction

Read the Scripture.

When we travel on the roads in our automobiles there are signs that have been placed in different places to give us direction and there are signs to keep us from danger.

I.         STOP.

            God Wants Us To Stop And Think About Which Road That We Are On.

II.       DO NOT ENTER.

            God Wants The Best For Us. He Has Placed This Sign On The Road To Hell.

III.      WRONG WAY.

            This Is One Of The Scariest Signs On The Road.

The Bible Says That If You Are Not Following Jesus, You Are Going The Wrong Way.

            Romans 3:23–“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”

Psalm 58:3–“The wicked are estranged (i.e. turned aside) from the womb: they go astray as soon as they be born, speaking lies.”

Romans 5:12–“Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:”

IV.      DEAD END.  

There are many roads we can take in life. However, every road in life other than Jesus is a “Dead End” road.

Romans 6:23–“The wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Proverbs 14:12 & 16:25–“There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.”

Revelation 20:15–“And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”

V.        ONE WAY.

John 14:6–“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

Acts 4:12–“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”

VI.      KEEP FOLLOWING JESUS.

Once we start following Jesus, He wants us to move straight ahead and keep following Him.

            A.        GO STRAIGHT ONLY.

            B.        NO U-TURNS.

            C.        DON’T TURN TO THE RIGHT OR LEFT.

Isaiah 30:21–“And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.”

Proverbs 4:25-27–“Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee. 25Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee. 26Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established. 27Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.”

            D.        DON’T TAKE ANY DETOURS.

            E.        WATCH OUT FOR BUMPS.

VII.     YIELD YOUR LIFE TO JESUS.

Romans 6:13–“Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.”

Romans 6:16–“Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?”

Romans 6:19–“. . .as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.”

Conclusion

Are you on the right road headed the right way? If not, you need to get on the road with Jesus!
